System requirements
Navis Arca is software-only — a lightweight agent on each vessel endpoint plus a browser-based console ashore. There is no on-board appliance to buy, ship or install.
- Endpoint agent: Windows, macOS and Linux.
- Operator console: any modern browser — no install.
- On-board hardware: none.
- Connectivity: any intermittent link (VSAT, LEO, or shore Wi-Fi in port). The agent is offline-tolerant.
Deployment in four steps
- Enrol the vessel in the console and download the signed installer for the endpoint's OS.
- Install the agent. Crew double-click the installer; the device auto-enrols and reporting begins within seconds — no specialist visit, no port-call.
- Controls start automatically — vulnerability and patch management, CIS hardening, USB policy, MFA, secure remote support and endpoint health begin running on schedule.
- Coverage appears in the console — per-vessel and fleet-wide posture, with two-click coverage PDFs for the frameworks you answer to.
A one-page crew quick-start PDF is available for the bridge folder on request.
Connectivity & bandwidth
Navis Arca is engineered for vessels at sea. The agent operates on a strict bandwidth budget — on the order of sub-megabyte per device per day — and is offline-tolerant: when a link drops, the agent keeps enforcing controls locally and resynchronises with the control plane when connectivity returns. Nothing in the workflow assumes an always-on connection.
Security & access
Operator access to the console requires multi-factor authentication and is governed by role-based access control, with a tamper-evident, queryable audit log of every action. The control plane is multi-tenant and region-pinned. Any Navis Arca support access to your tenant is time-limited, audited, and initiated by you. See the security overview and Trust Center for detail.
Compliance evidence
Every control feeds a live evidence layer. From the console you select a framework and a vessel (or the whole fleet) and export a polished coverage PDF — pre-mapped to IACS UR E26/E27, TMSA 3, BIMCO V5, IMO MSC.428(98) and more. See the full compliance matrix.
Full documentation & support
Detailed operator, administrator and deployment documentation is available to customers inside the console. For evaluation materials, a deployment guide, or integration questions during a security review, contact support@navisarca.com — or request our security package via the Trust Center.
